Palm Yoga separates itself from other yoga studios by teaching a proven, program-based curriculum in a way that addresses the individual needs of each student. Due to the structure of our programs, our teachers get to know you and your body, along with your strengths and weaknesses. This allows us to provide you with personalized programs that maximize your yoga practice and quest for better health.
The mission statement for Palm Yoga is to make yoga accessible to everyone. We accomplish this by doing the following:

Palm Yoga offers students two programs to grow and maintain their health:
The Palm Yoga YFB program is the best program in Tampa Bay for people that are new or have limited experience with yoga. We teach a proven curriculum that covers all the basic yoga poses as well as basic breathing techniques. In our YFB program, you are not just put into the poses. We teach you how to move your body in and out of each pose safely. You will learn the proper alignment for each of the basic poses and, if necessary, adjustments that make it comfortable and appropriate for your body. Most people stay in this program for six to twelve months before moving into our Intermediate program.
Our Intermediate program is a natural progression from the Yoga for Beginners program. In this program, we build on the basics learned in our YFB program. In addition to exploring the basic poses on a deeper level, we learn deeper backbends, inversions and seated forward bends. We also learn other pranayama (breathing) techniques as well as partner yoga work. This program gives you the opportunity to come to class more often so you continue to develop your strength and flexibility.

Please come to class with an empty stomach. Please refrain from wearing heavy perfumes or colognes.
Appropriate attire includes comfortable clothing such as leggings, shorts or sweat pants and a form-fitting shirt or tank top.
Private and Semi-Private classes are available by appointment.
Private sessions are available for those who have a specific goal in mind or want to learn at their own pace. Many people that are new to yoga will begin with a series of private lessons and then transfer into our Beginners program. Another popular option is taking private lessons during pregnancy and post-partum to address specific physical and emotional needs. Privates and Semi-privates (two people) are available by appointment only. You will leave the session with “homework” to practice at home until your next session. A discount is available when a series of privates is purchased.
Class Descriptions
Yoga for Beginners
Appropriate for students new to yoga or anyone that has special needs. This class will cover the basics of breathing as well as basic yoga poses. Yoga for Beginners is a great place to start if you’re not sure which class is right for you.
Level 1 & 2
An advanced beginner class. More complex standing poses and backbends are introduced as well as inversions.
Advanced Technique
An Intermediate class where it is assumed that you are knowledgeable about the postures. More advanced variations will be taught as well as inversions and their variations. A minimum of one year of yoga is encouraged before you participate in this class.
All Levels
A flowing yoga class to prepare you for your day. Pose variations, as well as props, will be offered making this class appropriate for all levels.

Student Testimonial
In1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia, I experienced my first real combat scenarios and also became the recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. During numerous deployments to locales in the Middle East and elsewhere since then, I continued to add to the emotional scars of combat. Throughout my military years, those emotions often manifested themselves as frustration and anger both at home and in the workplace.
My wife was attending yoga classes at Palm Yoga, and our children were attending jiu-jitsu classes at Tampa Jiu-Jitsu. At the bequest of my wife, I agreed to join our children and try some jiu-itsu in an attempt to “relieve some stress” through jiu-jitsu. I immediately enjoyed the classes and decided to continue training.
The atmosphere that Ryan Deichert has created at Tampa Jiu-Jitsu is one that promotes both education and personal growth through hard training, through which you are compelled to dig deep into your spiritual being and strive for true greatness.
At about the six-month mark into my jiu-jitsu training, I realized that I had become a different person. I was much calmer, more accepting and more focused both at work and more importantly at home. It has been just over a year since I started training with Ryan, and I can honestly say I have become a better husband, father, manager, and person. The stresses that stemmed from my military experiences will never be totally driven from memory; however, the manifestation of my frustration and anger has dramatically reduced. I have received complements from my friends, family and co-workers who have noticed a measurable change in my demeanor.
The thoughtful lessons, hard training sessions, constant encouragement, and overall atmosphere at Tampa Jiu-Jitsu have affected positive changes in my life. Through Ryan’s tutelage, jiu-jitsu has provided a means to reduce the effects of stress and improve my life. I am truly thankful to be a part of Tampa Jiu-Jitsu.
